Before you replicate

Before you replicate your project, there are many things to consider. How many copies will you need...?? Do you need multiple format options (Mac, PC, enhanced, etc…)…?? Do you want glass-master “replicated” product or merely burnable “duplicated” product…?? And, most importantly,… has your master been created to the most professional standards and specifications possible to ensure a quality end result…??

MOST ISSUES PERTAINING TO A PRODUCTS FAILURE IN THE FIELD CAN BE ATTRIBUTED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL AUTHORING OR CREATION OF THE MASTER. There are many consumer level software programs now available that allow masters to be created on the fly in a simple home computer system. The capability to write a CD/DVD or other available medium does not necessarily mean that the “master” is now written to industry standards. Often times there are proprietary codes and/or other extra information embedded into the master contents which may allow the software utilized to run more efficiently, - but may also cause malfunctions in unsupported equipment once the master is copied. Please remember that ALL the disc information (including these codes and extra information blocks) will be copied from the master source in a byte to byte comparison manner at most duplication facilities.

WHAT WE DO. At Kmastering, your master is created to the utmost professional standards possible. Before ANY master is released, it is processed through special analyzing equipment to make sure that there are no extraneous codes, sub-blocks, or non-conforming content. Every master is checked against international standards to verify that there will be no issues in the duplication process. Your master, once approved, is ready for duplication. WE GUARANTEE IT.

What you need to know about embedded project codes.

Digital download sales, royalties for new media play, even royalties from the sale of blank CD-Rs, in addition to physical retail and online retail sales of CDs all hinge on coded information. It’s important that artists use every means available to establish their connection to their recording, and to incorporate into their project all of the now-essential tools for selling their recordings. Analog vs Digital

Analog and digital signals are used to transmit information, usually through electric signals. In both these technologies, the information, such as any audio or video, is transformed into electric signals. The difference between analog and digital technologies is that in analog technology, information is translated into electric pulses of varying amplitude. In digital technology, translation of information is into binary format (zero or one) where each bit is representative of two distinct amplitudes.
